For the past several months, our sister site 5thGenRams.com have been showing us tons of spy photos of the upcoming Ram Heavy Duty. 5thGenRams has already broke down the new design of the new Ram Heavy Duty models as of recently. It appears that the new trucks will keep most of the body of the 4th generation of Ram Heavy Duty trucks, while getting a lot of the technology from the all-new 2019 Ram 1500.
According to 5thGenRams.com sources, the upcoming Heavy Duty models will NOT be a 2020 model year vehicle. Instead, they will be a late-2019 model year introduction (similar to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) introduction). The trucks are expected to start production in Saltillo, Mexico in January only days before its public debut at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
Currently, Ram Trucks has not posted any information about the 2019 model year Heavy Duty trucks. They have also recently extended the 2018 model year production for the truck in Mexico, as well as launch a new 2018 Harvest Edition Chassis Cab model while Ram 1500 and Ram 1500 Classic models are hitting lots as 2019 model year vehicles.
It is expected that the new Heavy Duty models will move to the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan for the 2020 model year.
