FCA Reports Sales For Canada & Mexico For October:

Mexico Sales Up, While Canada Sales Are Down!

FCA Canada today reported October 2018 sales of 14,669 vehicles a decline of 15% compared to last October, while FCA México recorded sales of 6,777 units.

Jeep® Brand:
In Canada, the Jeep brand reported sales of 4,491 in October. Jeep Grand Cherokee led the way with 1,103 sales, an increase of 39% over last year, followed by Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass with sales rising 3% or 1,549 units and 2% or 585 units, respectively. For the year, Jeep brand sales are up 7% from this time in 2017. Wrangler sales were down 33% over the same time period last year, with 1,182 units rolling out of dealers. The Renegade reported 75 units sold for the month of October in Canada.

In Mexico, Jeep continued its positive trend by registering 1,083 units sold. From January to October 2018, this brand has increased its sales 8% versus the same period in 2017. The Jeep Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee achieved their best sales month of the year, while the Jeep Renegade is the leader in the small SUV segment and sold 293 units.

Chrysler Brand:
Chrysler brand reported sales of 400 vehicles for the month in Canada. That is a drop of 50% over last October. Chrysler Pacifica sales 53% with 216 units sold versus 457 sold last October. Chrysler 300 sales also dropped compared to last October, declining 8% to 184 units sold for the month.

Chrysler recorded best sales month of 2018 in Mexico with 66 units, up 38% versus prior year. The Chrysler 300, showed good sales performance, while Chrysler Pacifica sales increased 8% versus the prior year, its best sales month of the year.

2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. (Dodge).

Dodge Brand:
In Canada, the Dodge brand reported sales of 2,964 vehicles for the month. Dodge Durango sales of 444 vehicles were up 113%; followed by 351 Dodge Charger sales, up 144% from the prior year. Grand Caravan continued to be the best seller for the brand despite sales being down 44%, with 1,783 units sold. That was good enough to place it as the second best FCA vehicle sold in Canada during the month. Challenger sales dropped 69% with 110 units sold for the month. But the biggest change in sales was the Dodge Journey which dropped 81% with only 274 units sold for the entire month. Canadian deals did manage to sell 2 left over Vipers in their inventory during October as well.

Dodge sold 1,928 units in the Mexican market. Dodge Attitude, the sales leader of the brand, sold 1,146 units. Dodge Charger achieved its best October ever. Dodge Grand Caravan also increased sales 16% over the prior year.

2019 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab 4×4. (Ram).

Ram Truck Brand:
Ram truck brand reported sales of 6,677 vehicles for the month, an increase of 10% compared with the previous year. The light-duty Ram 1500 was the driver with 5,329 sales, up 10%. Ram pickup trucks, Ram ProMaster van and Ram ProMaster City saw increases of 9% or 6,310 units, 13% or 278 units and 218% or 89 units, respectively, when compared with results from this time last year. Only the Ram Truck and Fiat brands showed gains in October for FCA Canada.

In Mexico, the Ram brand achieved sales of 1,889 units. From January to October 2018, this brand has increased its sales 1% versus the same period in 2017. In the Commercial segment, the Ram ProMaster Rapid sold 366 units, up 14% versus 2017. The compact Ram 700 sold 718 units.

2019 Fiat 500X Trekking Urbana. (FIAT).

FIAT Brand:
In Canada, the Fiat brand reported sales of 48 vehicles for the month, up 60% from last year. The Fiat 500 sold 15 models during the month of October, which was exactly the same amount of units sold during October 2017. The Fiat 500L also sold has the same sales as last October with just 1 500L rolling of a Canadian lot. The 500X only saw 2 units leaving dealers for the month. While the 124 Spider, saw a 173% increase with the sale of 30 of the Italian roadster during the month of October.

Fiat sold 685 units in Mexico for the month of October. The Fiat Ducato achieved its best sales month since 2012, while the Fiat Palio Adventure showed a sales increase of 97%. The Fiat Mobi sold 239 units, while Fiat UNO sold 201 units for the month.

Alfa Romeo Brand:
Alfa Romeo brand reported sales of 89 vehicles for the month. Giulia saw a 75% increase with 35 sales in Canada. Down 54% over the same period last year, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio still was the best selling Alfa model in Canada with 51 units sold for the month. A total of 3 Alfa 4C sports cars were also sold during the month.

Alfa Romeo recorded sales of 20 units during the month of October in Mexico.

Mitsubishi Motors (Mexican Market):
Mitsubishi Motors Mexico which is operated by FCA México, recorded sales of 1,106 units. Mitsubishi Outlander sales rose 32% compared to October 2017. Mitsubishi L200 and Mitsubishi Mirage sold 488 and 472 units, respectively.
