This restomod 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible named “Mercenary” was designed by J.D. Davis for Richline Motorsports and built by Jimmy Anderson. The process has undergone a meticulous rotisserie restoration, leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of perfection. The result is a vehicle that stands as a testament to the craftsmanship, and dedication poured into every inch of its being.

“Mercenary” commands attention and is dressed in a resplendent Vibrant Lite Blue exterior paint with painted Black stripes. The power convertible top adds an element of versatility, allowing you to enjoy the thrill of open-air driving at a moment’s notice. Custom touches such as 20-inch Foose wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires, Kindig It door handles, and custom headlights and taillights complete the ensemble, ensuring that this Challenger is a head-turner from every angle.

Stepping inside, you’re greeted by an interior that seamlessly marries form and function. The exterior color, custom-matching interior, and diamond-stitched surfaces exude luxury and sophistication. Front bucket seating with lap belts offers comfort and security, while the rear bench seating provides ample room for passengers. Custom digital gauges, an aftermarket radio, and a pistol-grip shifter underscore the modern amenities seamlessly integrated into this classic beauty.

Under the hood lies the heart of this beast – a Ray Barton 8.8-liter (540 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 engine nestled within an Indy Max aluminum block. This powerhouse boasts an array of high-performance enhancements, including a Moroso oil pan, ATI super damper, electronic fuel injection (EFI) setup, and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Coupled with an A727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission and a Dana 60 rear end with 3.73:1 gears, this Challenger delivers a staggering 727 horsepower to the pavement.

“Mercenary” isn’t just about raw power; it’s been engineered for precision handling. Power rack and pinion steering ensure responsive control, while power disc brakes on all four corners, featuring drilled and slotted rotors, Wilwood calipers, and a limited-slip differential, guarantee confident stopping power.

A peek underneath reveals an undercarriage that rivals the beauty of the exterior. Body-color floorboards, cross members, frame ties, TCI aluminum trans pan, and a new fuel tank demonstrate the level of detail invested in this restoration. The independent front suspension, four-link rear suspension, and Viking coil-overs provide a smooth and controlled ride, while the dual exhaust system with FlowMaster 10 series mufflers and 3-inch stainless exhaust emits a sonorous symphony.
