Filosa Wastes No Time, Begins Rethinking Stellantis’ Long-Term Plan

New Stellantis CEO Kicks Off Tenure by Reassessing “Dare Forward 2030” Strategy

Just days into his new role, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa isn’t wasting any time. In his first public Town Hall meeting with employees, held via livestream from Turin, Italy, Filosa made it clear that the company’s long-term strategic direction is already under review.

“We have already started looking at our long-term strategic plan, which we will share when we are ready,” Filosa told employees during the meeting. This refers to the “Dare Forward 2030” plan introduced back in March 2022 by former CEO Carlos Tavares.

That plan had some big goals: doubling net revenues by 2030, keeping strong profit margins, and ramping up electric vehicle (EV) sales—specifically, reaching 100% EV sales in Europe and 50% in the U.S. by the end of the decade. It also included a push to boost Stellantis’ presence in global markets outside Europe and North America.

But last year, Stellantis ran into several commercial and operational roadblocks, especially in its key U.S. and European markets. Those issues ultimately forced the company to pull back on its yearly financial targets and played a role in the leadership change at the top.

Now, Filosa is not only CEO, but also continuing his previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for North America—a market that includes critical brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, and Ram. His leadership is expected to be hands-on, and so far, he’s been living up to that promise.

Filosa’s roots in the company go deep. He started 25 years ago as a paint shop quality supervisor in Spain and worked his way through the ranks. He’s led teams in South America, managed the Jeep brand, oversaw the North American business, and most recently, directed operations across the Americas while also dealing with quality control.

Since taking over as CEO, Filosa has made the rounds at several company facilities, including visits to the Windsor Assembly Plant during Chrysler’s 100th Anniversary celebration and stops at the Jefferson North and Sterling Stamping Plants in Michigan.

While details on any major changes to “Dare Forward 2030” are still under wraps, one thing is clear—Filosa is hitting the ground running and putting Stellantis’ future front and center from day one.

Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2023 MC20 Cielo vehicles. The windshield frame bonding may be insufficient, allowing the frame to detach in a crash.
