Proceeds to Benefit Environmentally-focused Nonprofit...

Art Basel Miami Beach 2023 is set to witness a unique collaboration between FIAT and iconic Italian brands Armani, Bvlgari, and Kartell, showcasing a commendable initiative to support the planet. On December 7th, three bespoke vehicles designed in partnership with these renowned brands will take center stage at an undisclosed location, up for auction. The proceeds generated from this remarkable event will contribute to a yet-to-be-disclosed nonprofit organization, emphasizing FIAT’s commitment to sustainability and environmental causes.

Olivier Francois, the CEO of FIAT and Global Chief Marketing Officer of Stellantis, expressed enthusiasm about this groundbreaking collaboration, stating, “It is rare for an automaker to combine efforts with the most iconic Italian brands of three different sectors, fashion design, furniture design, and luxury, to create something truly unique that combines art with an earth-friendly message.”

These exclusive builds represent more than just vehicles; they symbolize FIAT’s sustainable mission and serve as a prelude to the imminent arrival of the all-electric Fiat 500e in North America. The Fiat 500e marks Stellantis’ inaugural EV offering in the region and stands out as a revolutionary electric city car, democratizing electric mobility and redefining the purchasing experience.

Renowned auctioneer Simon de Pury will oversee the auction of these exceptional Fiat 500e cars, describing them as “stunning and beautiful works of art on wheels.” De Pury highlighted that the entire proceeds from the auction will be allocated to environmental initiatives, further emphasizing the philanthropic aspect of the event.

For those unable to attend the auction, an online catalogue will be available on Simon de Pury’s innovative de PURY platform starting at the end of November. This catalog will enable interested parties to register for pre and absentee bidding, granting them access to participate in the auction remotely through online and telephonic means.

FIAT, with its more than 120 years as an automaker, remains dedicated to embodying iconic Italian design, refinement, and an inherent fun-to-drive factor in every vehicle it produces. The forthcoming launch of the Fiat 500e in early 2024 signifies a significant milestone as Stellantis’ pioneering retail battery-electric vehicle offering in North America and the top-selling city EV in Europe.

Still believe Fiat can be successful in North America. This is a good reboot.

Unless Stellantis gets everything correct on their Free-2-Move Charge network for the USA, kiss Fiat USA and the Chrysler division goodbye. FCA used the original Fiat 500e as a good practice run, despite the small sales numbers. I'm hoping they will build on what they have learned and provide a first class support system for their next customers. The ambiance of the showroom pales in significance to that of the charging experience for EV users.

I’d like to offer a different perspective. Most folks know clearly the “all-Electric” policy is a fools errand to oblivion and that policy, augmented but not determinative by charging station availability, could sink many brands. Saving Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo and Maserati is the simple necessity to reject these policies and offer customers a CHOICE of power sources. Electric in one or more forms could be part of that mix, even all electric models, but in that mix there must be an ICE option. Fiat could offer a 500 e and Chrysler the Airflow as electrics, but salvation comes with other options and other models the public will demand for decades and decades. The “ Green Revolution” is now DOA. That’s the only corps I see in this picture.
