FIAT Studying If It Will Send Its All-Electric 600e To Brazil
Would Back Up 500e If It Does...
According to AutosSegredos (Auto Secrets), the FIAT brand is currently considering sending its European-built 600e to Brazil. The new B-segment crossover could make it to South America by the end of 2024.
The 600e was introduced last year in Europe and is currently produced on the e-CMP platform alongside the new Jeep® Avenger and the soon-to-be-launched Alfa Romeo Milano.
The 600e features design cues similar to that of the popular 500e, such as circular headlights and its badge above the front grille. The 600e blends the best of the 500e’s interior with the Avenger. It borrows the steering wheel and climate controls from the 500e while using the Avenger’s center console. The instrument panel uses the same styling theme as the 500e, making it truly the bigger brother of the 500e.
Currently, the 600e is sold in Europe in two trims: (RED) and La Prima models. While the (RED) model is considered the entry-level model, it is only available in three exterior colors (Red, White, and Black). The more premium La Prima offers four Italian-inspired exterior colors named (Orange, Green, Sand, and Blue), each representing the Sun, Sea, Earth, and Sky.
While the 600 will be offered with both a hybrid and an all-electric model in certain European markets, the all-electric 600e is the only model being considered to be headed to Brazil. The reason being that it wouldn’t be cross-shopped with the Brazilian-built Fiat Pulse B-segment crossover, which doesn’t offer an all-electric variant.
The Fiat 600e is equipped with a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery, with an estimated range of 250 miles (400 kilometers) under the WLTP testing cycle. The 600e is fitted with a single e-motor, driving the front wheels with a maximum output of 154 horsepower (115 kW) and 192 lb.-ft. (260 N⋅m), matching the Avenger. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph can happen in 9 seconds flat. Drivers can tailor their driving experience using three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport.
Charging time is optimized through a 100 kW fast charger system, allowing for a quick charge of up to 80% in less than half an hour. Additionally, the model features an 11 kW On-Board Charger and a Mode 3 cable for home or public charging, ensuring a full charge in under six hours.
