Fiat Celebrates 2,000,000th Strada Pickup Sold In Brazil
Brazil's Most Popular Pickup, Hits Milestone...
Fiat is marking a major milestone as it celebrates the sale of its 2,000,000th Fiat Strada subcompact pickup in Brazil. Originally launched in 1998, the Fiat Strada quickly gained traction as a popular and versatile vehicle. Over the years, it has grown into an icon in the Brazilian automotive market, combining a reliable workhorse with advanced technology, innovation, and comfort.
Since its debut, the Fiat Strada has been developed and produced at the Stellantis Automotive Center in Betim, Brazil, bringing significant contributions to the local automotive industry. The pickup’s journey began with its first generation, which saw rapid growth in popularity, positioning Fiat as a leader in the pickup segment. The introduction of the second-generation Strada in 2020 marked a new era for the model. This refreshed design brought substantial updates, such as a larger cabin and a Double Cab (Crew Cab) configuration allowing easy access to the rear seats.
The Strada exceeded production expectations in just four years, with over 600,000 units manufactured and half a million units sold. Since 2021, it has consistently led the Brazilian pickup market, reaching more than 115,000 registrations in 2024 alone.
As Fiat’s Vice President for South America, Alexandre Aquino, remarked, “When it comes to pickups, we are a reference in the market and are always ahead in innovations. Since its launch, through the Double Cab, the first CVT automatic transmission in the category, and the new TurboFlex engine, Fiat continues to rewrite Strada’s success story, always meeting consumer demands.”
The recent 2024 model year line brought even more updates, including a new turbocharged 1.0-liter inline-three-cylinder, enhancing both performance and efficiency, a redesigned look, and adding the premium Ultra version, which expands the model’s offerings.
Beyond Brazil, the Strada is now available in select South American markets, including Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina. It’s also sold in Mexico under the Ram 700 badge. The pickup’s growing success throughout Latin America reflects its versatility. It meets the demands of professionals as a dependable work vehicle and provides a comfortable, high-tech experience for leisure driving.
