Stellantis Teases 17 New Low Emission Vehicles (LEVs) Will Be Coming Before 2024!

Here Is What You Can Expect...

During this morning’s 2021 Financial Results presentation, Stellantis also shared some future product news ahead of its scheduled “Long Term Strategic Plan” for investors. That event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1st. at 2 p.m. CET / 8 a.m. EST., but today, we got a look at a list of some of the scheduled launches for Stellantis’ electrified program.

List of Stellantis LEV Launches For 2022 & 2023. (Stellantis).

According to the information released, there will be 17 new low-emission vehicles (LEVs) released by the automaker during 2022 and 2023. Those new LEVs will join the automaker’s already large global portfolio of 34 LEVs, which are currently available. So what are the 17 new electrified products? Let’s take a look…

European-Spec 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale Veloce. (Alfa Romeo).

Alfa Romeo –

2022 Chrysler Airflow Concept BEV. (Chrysler).

Chrysler –

  • No new news on any future production from the iconic American “blue-collar luxury” brand. The Airflow Concept will make it into production according to our sources. However, that won’t take place until the 2024 model year. Two other new electrified vehicles could be joining the Airflow, all of which would be based on the STLA Large architecture by 2027. Currently, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the brand’s lone PHEV offering.
2022 Citroën C5X PHEV. (Citroën).

Citroën –

  • Two new all-battery electric vehicles (BEVs) will be available for 2022 and 2023 and while Stellantis hasn’t officially announced what vehicles they are, we do one of those vehicles is the new e-C3 (internally codenamed “eCC21”).
  • The introduction of the Chinese-built C5X offers the French brand a large PHEV crossover. The five-door hatchback pushes the design of an aggressive-looking estate to something of a Subaru-like crossover.
2022 DS 9 E-TENSE 250 RIVOLI +. (DS Automobiles).

DS Automobiles –

  • While there are no new releases for the 2022 and 2023 model year announced, the electrified premium French brand has continued to update its existing lineup to include more range capability going into the 2022 model year.
Pre-Production 2023 Dodge Hornet from Facebook video. (AutoPareri.com).

Dodge –

  • Although we are scheduled to see a concept version of the next-generation Challenger before the end of Q1 2022, the big news is the introduction of the new Hornet. The Hornet will feature the same PHEV powertrain for North America as the Tonale and should open Dodge customers up to electrification for the first time. Those models with the new PHEV powertrain will wear the iconic Fratzog logo of the 1960s and 1970s, which will now symbolize electrified Dodge vehicles. The Italian-built Dodge will be shown later this year and roll off the assembly line in Q3 2022.
2022 Fiat 500e 3+1 at the Mirafiori Plant. (Stellantis).

FIAT –

  • The FIAT brand only has one new BEV coming to market in the next two years. While Stellantis has yet to say what that vehicle is, we believe that it the all-new 500e 5-Door model that is currently in development along side a new Jeep subcompact for the European marketplace.
2022 Fiat E-Scudo BEV commercial van. (FIAT Professional).

FIAT Professional –

  • The FIAT Professional has aleady announced its new e-Scudo commerical van to enter the European marketplace by the end of 2022. It will be placed between the Ducato and Doblò, both are already available.
  • FIAT Professional also has one other BEV in the works, that has yet to be officially announced. We believe that it will be a BEV version of the successful Doblò commercial van (also known as the Ram ProMaster City in North America).
2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe. (Jeep).

Jeep® –

  • The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL74) 4xe is currently available in the North American marketplace and should start arriving in dealers soon in North America. The Jeep brand also announced this past week that its Grand Cherokee lineup for Europe, will only consist of only the 4xe lineup.
  • Also listed is the introduction of an all-new BEV vehicle that has yet to be officially announced. We believe that the vehicle is a new A-segment vehicle, that Jeep has been working on for sometime internally named (Jeep Junior). The vehicle will be slot below the Renegade and be initially sold in the European market only.
2022 Maserati Grecale tester. (Maserati).

Maserati –

  • We have seen plenty of spy photos of the upcoming 2023 Maserati GranTurismo over the past year. The new GT car from Maserati will include both internal combustion engine (ICE) and BEV powertrain options. It will be joined by a convertible version (GranCabrio).
  • Another vehicle to recieve an BEV powertrain in the Maserati lineup, will be the all-new Grecale D-SUV. Based on the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, the Grecale opens the Italian premium brand to an all-new segment that it hasn’t yet competed in. We shall see the new Grecale next month, as it will be unveiled on March 5th.
Vauxhall Astra HYBRID-e. (Vauxhall).

Opel/Vauxhall –

  • The German brand and its English subsidary, have been in the process of electrifying their portfolios. However, the most important product to showcase the brand’s electrification strategy, the Astra hatchback and station wagon are currently being produced with PHEV powertrains. A new BEV version for both models is scheduled to join the lineup in 2023.
2022 Peugeot 308 GT Hybrid Hatchback. (Peugeot).

Peugeot –

2023 Ram ProMaster BEV Prototype. (GabetzSPYUnit).

Ram –

To many mixed messages coming out of FCA-PCA! Through the grapevine, Charger and Challenger to be killed off as ICE versions will be no longer available?

as well as disclosing that there wouldnt be any ICE engines contrary to Ford saying that they will be still selling ICE engines? The PCA Chairman previously saying that the cost of changing over everything is completely overwhelming to the manufacturers? I just think too much too soon especially with the Russian thing on boarding as we speak!

I think you are all over the place.
Dodge brand isn’t going full BEV unlike Alfa.
We been pretty clear that next Charger and Challenger will have ICE options that will be pared with various Hybrid Technology.
Last thing John Elkann is the Chairman (both Executive Chairman and the Chairman of the Board Of Directors) of Stellantis as he was with pre-merger FCA and its direct predecessor FIAT Spa.

There has been a significant advance in mild hybrid technology as we have seen with the recent news articles here at Mopar Insiders. While these latest hybrid models are small front drive Fiats and Jeeps with the 1.5 liter GSE, they demonstrate the capabilities of a 48V system.

In addition to the high voltage PHEV sytem from ZF, there will most likely be a mild hybrid option as well, all based on the Gen-4 eight speed. I don't know what the GVW limits of the new 8-speed will be, some of the HD Ram trucks might use the older generation 8 speed or the HD 8 speed for commercial trucks which was recently introduced.

What all this means is the rear drive Dodges, Rams and Jeeps will have ICE power for under the hood for a little while longer. I would like to see more details on the 1.5 liter GSE Miller cycle engine, specifically how they pull off using a turbocharger with a Miller Cycle. Up until now, it hasn't been practical. A close examination will likely provide some clues of what the 3 liter inline six will have.
