Stellantis Recalls 3,919 Jeep® Wagoneer S BEVs for Headlight Issue

Headlights May Be Improperly Adjusted, Increasing Crash Risk...

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 3,919 units of its 2024 to 2025 Jeep® Wagoneer S battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) due to an issue with the headlight vertical aim adjustment not being accessible and the horizontal aim adjustment not being covered as intended. As a result, the headlights may not be properly adjustable. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Incorrectly adjusted headlights can reduce driver visibility or create glare for oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

The suspect period began on March 21, 2024, when the first 2024 model year vehicles were produced, and ended on January 29, 2025, when vehicles were manufactured with an accessible vertical headlamp aim adjustment mechanism and an inaccessible horizontal headlamp aim adjustment mechanism. Vehicle production records were used to determine the suspect population.

Similar vehicles not included in this recall were either built after the suspect period or repaired before release from the production plant.

Recall Chronology –

  • On February 6, 2025, the FCA US, LLC (FCA US) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) organization opened an investigation into a potential issue related to the headlamp aim adjustment accessibility for 2024 to 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles.

  • From February 6, 2025, through February 19, 2025, FCA US TSRC met with FCA US engineering and manufacturing teams to review the issue, assess the failure mode, and determine the suspect population.

  • On February 19, 2025, FCA US TSRC identified a vehicle build issue on certain units, involving the inaccessibility of the vertical headlamp aim adjustment mechanism and the accessibility of the horizontal headlamp aim adjustment mechanism, potentially resulting in noncompliance with FMVSS No. 108.

  • On March 14, 2025, FCA US, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall of the affected vehicles.

Dealers will remove the plugs from the vertical aim adjustment and install plugs on the horizontal aim adjustment, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 9, 2025.
