Earlier tonight, Dodge released a teaser video of the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT on their Instagram and Facebook accounts. The video was titled “RED797_62818”. If you break down the later part of the name, it is Thursday’s date. We believe it maybe a teaser for the upcoming power upgrade for one of the new power levels of the 6.2-liter SRT HEMI HELLCAT V8.
While the title states “RED797” as part of the title, we have heard different numbers for the standard SRT HELLCAT numbers from our sources. However, Dodge will be offering two performance versions of the SRT HELLCAT for the 2019 model year. The higher performance version has been called a couple of names on the interwebs. Names like Drag Pack and Special Edition. But those packages, will offer increased power over the standard SRT HELLCAT models with a bunch of technology goodies from the outgoing SRT Demon.
