While autoshows have been getting smaller globally, the São Paulo International Motor Show in São Paulo, Brazil has been growing. While the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) FIAT brand has been making headlines with the debut of the Fiat Fastback Concept, some of the FCA US brands have been making an appearance at the show as well.
With 104 years of history under it’s belt, the Dodge brand has had a long history in the Brazilian market. In recent years, the Dodge brand in Brazil consist of one model. That model is the Dodge Journey. Currently only one model is available, which happens to be Dodge Journey R/T.
Well the Dodge brand has announced the introduction of the Dodge Journey R/T Blacktop edition at the São Paulo show. While the package is popular in North America, it has yet to be introduced to the Brazilian market until now. Over 17,000 Dodge Journeys have been sold in Brazil, and the Blacktop package is already gaining praise from the public.
Also on display is the Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT. While not currently sold in Brazil, the 717 horsepower muscle car is on display as it is known worldwide for its performance.
Dodge also brought the 2019 Dodge Durango GT to the motor show as well. While the vehicle was on sale in the market from 2013 to 2016, it has been brought to the São Paulo International Motor Show as a study to see if there is interest in having the Durango return to the market.
