Dodge Charger And Jeep® Wagoneer S Recalled For Rollaway Risk

Park Function Issue Prompts Safety Recall

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 25 units of its 2024–2025 Dodge Charger (LB) and Jeep® Wagoneer S (KX) electric vehicles (EVs). At issue is an incorrectly installed spring that may cause the loss of the park function when the vehicle’s gear selector is placed in the park (P) position. This defect could result in a vehicle rollaway, creating a safety hazard. Because of this, the affected vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 114, Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention.

According to Stellantis, some Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles may have been built with an Electric Drive Module (EDM) containing an mis-installed Park Pawl Return Spring (PPRS). The defect window for the Wagoneer S began on August 9, 2024, when the first suspect vehicle was produced, and ended on March 18, 2025, when production of affected vehicles stopped. The suspect population was determined using EDM traceability and vehicle production records. Stellantis confirmed that vehicles built outside this period or with a properly installed PPRS are not included in the recall.

Similarly, some 2024–2025 Dodge Charger electric vehicles may also have been built with an EDM containing a mis-installed PPRS. For the Charger, the suspect period began on August 2, 2024, and continued until April 3, 2025. Again, Stellantis used production data and supplier traceability to identify the potentially affected vehicles. Those built before or after the suspect window, or with correctly installed parts, are not included in the campaign.

In total, Stellantis estimates that 26 Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles and 49 Dodge Charger vehicles fall under this recall. Both vehicles fall into the light vehicle category and are powered exclusively by electric battery propulsion.

Recall Chronology –

  • July 15, 2025: The FCA US LLC (FCA US) Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (TSRC) organization opened an investigation into some 2024–2025 Dodge Charger and Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles that may have been built with a mis-installed PPRS in the EDM.

  • July 2025: FCA US TSRC met with FCA US engineering and manufacturing to review the issue, understand the failure mode, review customer records, and determine the suspect population.

  • July 23, 2025: FCA US TSRC recognized that an issue existed on certain vehicles related to rollaway prevention, potentially resulting in a noncompliance with FMVSS No. 114.

  • August 28, 2025: FCA US, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, determined that a noncompliance with FMVSS No. 114 exists on all affected vehicles.
