It’s National Donut Day and Dodge is celebrating with a new commercial. You might think they would be showcasing one of the brand’s 797 horsepower 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye. But this year, the performance brand has taken a different approach to celebrating.
You might recall last month, we told you about how the SRT engineering built a crazy one-off concept to run the annual Tire Rack One Lap of America event. Dodge//SRT engineers shoehorned a 797 horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 from the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye into the already performance-oriented Durango SRT, to create a track monster. On top of that, they threw on some Durango Pursuit related goodies to have some fun with the concept. The “Speed Trap” Concept as it is called, had no problem winning the Truck/SUV category (the 2nd consecutive win for the brand in the category).
So its no surprise, that the 2019 Dodge Durango SRT Pursuit “Speed Trap” Concept would make an appearance during the brand’s “National Donut Day” commercial.
While we told you about Dodge//SRT’s plan to build a production HELLCAT-powered Durango SRT, we can only hope that it’s powered by the Redeye’s 797 horsepower supercharged HEMI. We will continue to keep our fingers crossed.
