Dodge Brand To Bring Back “Direct Connection” As One Of It’s New Performance Programs!
Two New Performance Initiatives Will Be Announced On November 8th...
The Dodge brand is doubling down on its role as a pure performance brand with a sneak peek at one of two new performance-based programs set to be announced in early November. With help from National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag-racing superstars Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett, their Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) cars will be carrying special “Direct Connection” graphics on their respective race cars.
For those who aren’t familiar with the “Direct Connection” brand, it was established as the performance division of the former Chrysler Corporation starting in the late-1960s. Chrysler engineers developed an assortment of factory-developed performance and customization parts for the Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth brands.
In 1987, the Direct Connection brand was renamed “Mopar Performance Parts“, where it continues under the Mopar brand banner today.
Dodge will be making an official announcement about two new performance initiatives (one being related to the Direct Connection identity), on November 8th. Be sure to stay tuned to MoparInsiders.com as we will be covering that event LIVE.
The Direct Connect paint schemes will be making their debut later today, at the Dodge//SRT NHRA Nationals Presented by Pennzoil at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The event will kick off today, Friday, October 29th through Sunday, October 31st.
Both Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett have signed on to join Tony Stewart Racing next year, in NHRA competition.
