When it comes to rare Mopar builds, few cars carry the mystique as this 2008 Plymouth ’Cuda Custom Concept, better known as the BBP Project ’Cuda. Set to cross the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, October 15–18, 2025, this hand-built creation blends modern SRT8 performance with unmistakable E-Body heritage.
Born From A Charger –

The foundation for the project was a 2008 Dodge Charger SRT8 donor chassis with its 6.1-liter (370 cubic-inch) HEMI® V8 and AutoStick transmission. To make the proportions work, the chassis was cut in half and shortened by four inches before being rebuilt. From there, the transformation from a four-door sedan to a two-door muscle coupe began.
Built By The Best –

The car was designed and built by Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters in Fountain Valley, California—the same outfit that created Dodge’s Challenger R/T Concept. Their reputation for high-quality, OEM-grade concept work made them the perfect partner for this ambitious project. Using a full-scale foam model machined on a 5-axis mill, Metalcrafters sculpted the body before producing a one-piece carbon-fiber shell. That shell was fitted to the modified Charger chassis, and the details were refined until the car looked like it could have rolled right out of a Chrysler factory.
Attention To Detail –

This wasn’t just a styling exercise. The BBP ’Cuda features DOT-approved tempered safety glass, functional doors, hood, and trunk, along with a reworked interior that converted the Charger’s sedan layout into a coupe configuration. The stock Charger dash and electronics were retained to give it that production feel, while a functional Shaker hood scoop, Flowmaster exhaust, and 22-inch Zenetti wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zeros completed the muscle-car-meets-modern look.
The exterior finish is Lamborghini Pearl Orange, accented by exposed clear-coated carbon fiber on the hood, spoiler, and taillight panel. It’s a striking combination that pays tribute to Plymouth’s muscle era while looking forward with modern craftsmanship.
SEMA Star –

Before the car was even finished, Mopar executives happened to see the build in progress and were so impressed that they invited it to debut at the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Positioned front and center in the Mopar display, the concept drew crowds and stirred speculation about a possible return of the Plymouth brand. While the ’Cuda never returned to production, this one-off stands as a bold “what if” moment in Mopar history.
Headed To Auction –

Now, nearly two decades later, the BBP Project ’Cuda is resurfacing with a chance to find a new home. Titled as a 2007 Dodge Charger, it represents not only a tribute to Plymouth’s glory days but also a unique chapter in Chrysler’s concept-car legacy. For collectors seeking something that bridges Mopar heritage and modern performance, this carbon-fiber ’Cuda might be the ultimate prize.
