What a Mess, that is a expensive error... as Springsteen Ad pulled.

I'm not sure if it's bad for Jeep. The ad had it's big screen time at Superbowl and now this scandal raises attention in social media etc. Copies of the ad can be found on Youtube.

There is also a lot of questions regarding the charge. His BAC was .02, which is 25% the legal limit in NJ of .08. Apparently he was riding his motorcycle and stopped so some people could get a photo with him. Someone gave him a shot of tequila, which he drank and then drove off. A police officer saw him and pulled him over to arrest him. Not sure how that will stick.

so the key is hiring a Drunk that spouted a message exact opposite to the corporations message. Cause a stir?

Hmmmm NAH

I bet you the "I'll never buy a Jeep again" posts are what they wanted. Certain things you don't want to be polarizing. Unity is one of those... Its like the opposite.

Not partisan .... either way

In the end your selling cars..... the guy was arrested in Nov.... Take a shot and drive a Jeep isn't the message one want to convey.

I could have gone to local Mill and found 5 guys on the spot that would have been better for the Ad on the spot.

And the ad was done at the last minute by Francois .
Will Bruce Springsteen be in Jeep’s Super Bowl ad? | Ad Age

Was a huge mistake using him in the first place.
Springsteen has long been a scumbag.

But this was Francois’s “fetish”.
You know what I think about Francois as CMO. Total disaster in my book. Actually one of the few good things he had done recently is electric 500 launch in Europe.

Driving drunk? Not a big deal in most of the EU. So I don't understand what is fuss about. In most cases it's not a criminal charge here.

To me it doesn’t make sense to have a Global Corporate CMO and brand CEO’s.
Big advertisement decisions should be left up the Brand CEO’s+ Marketing head under the Brand CEO’s.

On Driving Drunk, different states makes applicants sit through “Shaming videos” about Driving Drunk (“Driving is Not A Right”). But in the United States,President Biden is trying to de-punish Driving Drunk related to The U.S. Military and Immigration.

Yes, CMO shouldn't be brand CEO. I agree about that.

But IMO is neither good CMO or CEO. From what I remember de Meo was his predecessor. De Meo is 6 years younger than Francois. Just compare careers of these two.

Driving drunk is not a criminal charge in most of EU countries. That's my point. At least not if you are not heavily drunk and not unless you kill someone while driving but in that case you could be guilty even if driving with no alcohol in blood.
It's a foul/offense but not a criminal charge. For example here from where I'm from legal limit is 0.5 promiles of alcohol in blood but only about 1.5 promiles you could face serious repercussions like night in police station or regular medical exams fro driving licence.
