After making its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show back in July, the updated 2022 Jeep® Compass (MP) is now arriving in dealer inventories across the United States and Canada.

That is big news for the American adventure brand and its dealer network, as Jeep began rolling out the updated model to international markets about a year ago. The North American marketplace is the last key region to get its hands on the updated compact SUV.

I'm so glad I didn't wait for this one. I had a 2019 Cherokee I leased, the term ended in July, and debated just roughing it for a few months. I didn't want a Cherokee again because of the ancient interior, and the compass checked almost all the boxes AS LONG as it carried the 1.3T. I can deal with the 9 speeds glaring comfort and response issues, if I could get a peppy, fuel efficient motor with it... but the with 2.4L carrying over. No thanks.

I ended up getting a 21 Buick Envision, with a proper 9 speed auto and couldn't be happier. Glad I went with my gut.

We are hoping that 2022 will be the last year for the Tigershark. Renegade got a 1.3-liter standard across the lineup.
