BLUF: The car was never released. It doesn't exist. I can't test drive it. I can't see it, I never could, yet everybody on line acts like this car is real when its not.

Lets start off by saying I have been driving Dodge Challengers since 2008. I bought my first 2009 DC in October of 2008, drove around town like the king of the world, people would stop me and ask about it, I'd get honks and thumbs up, all for my 6-cylinder DC that cost 1/2 of what the hemi DC cost; little more than an economy car of its day. In 2014 I got a new one, It looked exactly the same, only they fixed every little thing I didn't like about my 2009: It had a real spare tire. the hood didn't have that economy car bar but rather real hood springs, the gas cap was now in the chrome, push button start. I was in heaven.
So here I am in 2023 all excited to get into the new 2024 challenger, renamed to be a "2d charger" but who cares, its my dodge challenger from vanishing point, in white, just like the movie. So here it was October of 2024 and I'm looking for the Challenger EV:..... crickets. no car. A year goes by.... Still nothing. Now It's on the eve of March 2025, the 2025 models should of been out 6 months ago, and again, not a car in sight.

Meantime, all the new, including this forum, acts like characters from the fable "the emperors new clothes" simply ignoring the fact that the car doesn't exist. Let me clarify what I mean by exist: I can go to anyone of a half dozen dodge dealerships within 15 miles of my house and have a choice of at least 6 models to test drive. That is how you sell cars. I search for "dodge charger in my area" and within 50 miles of my house I'll be lucky to see 10 cars that are "in transit" (BTW, "in transit" is a lie, as they have been in transit for 3 months now.)

So to sum up my question: Why isn't the mopar world outraged by the simple fact that these cars are not available to test drive in every dealership on the planet?

Don't get me started on the price of the car that [does not] exist. FWIW: In 2014 I paid $23k for my brand new dodge challenger sxt.

I mean. It exists. I’ve seen it. In Idaho.

I didn’t read your entire story but….i mean if it had a V8 we’d all be pissed. Most of us realize we won’t buy it and nearly no one will so, we kinda don’t care.

I'm not traveling to Idaho. I defined exists as in there are at least 6 models to test drive in every dealership I go to. Sitting in the lot waiting for me to sign on the dotted line. Just like every car I have ever bought, including Dodge Challengers, in the last 40 years. This "in transit" nonsense is a ponzi scheme.

Ok but you don’t get to quantify “exists”. No one cares how many on a lot qualifies for you, simple fact is the car exists, it’s making its way to lots, and that’s that.

You’ve posted a totally bogus thread looking for sympathy and it’s just not coming. Not from me.

You should probably stop posting and look up basic definitions of things as well. Ponzi scheme? Dude, get over yourself🤣

If I can't go into ANY Dealership and drive the car, it doesn't exist. This is why dodge will be out of business before the 2026 model

I saw a few of them on a car carrier about 1500 feet away so they indeed exist, but you can't blame certain/rural dealers for not wanting anything to do with the first electric ones. I dont think you'll see many of them around until the twin turbo 3.0L ones start showing up this summer.

I'm 20 minutes to Manhattan New York City. there are over 20 dodge dealerships within 30 miles of my house.

I did a search for the chevy blazer EV. There are over 400 vehicles ready to purchase right now within 30 miles of my house. All just sitting in the dealerships.

I’ve test driven three at different dealerships in the past month. Just yesterday was my most recent drive. They exist a plenty.

no outrage because i'm not interested and i think a lot of people aren't either, went recently to check out wb scat at dealer the new showroon had a new 23 callenger/and a 23 charger along with jeep/ram the only ev charger they had was out behind there used car annex rotten dirty salesperson asked if i was interested i said does it have a HEMI? he just laughed..

And you’re still wrong. Stop it. Jesus

And then you mention the Blazer EV, all just sitting on lots. Hmm perhaps because no one wants them. This isn’t rocket science, stop being a dramatic loser

They lose money on every one they sell, huge money - we're talking billions. Look at Ford with the Mach E and F-150 Lightning - they lost $5.1 BILLION on EVs in 2024. This company cannot afford losses of that magnitude, like Ford and GM can. So they will just cancel it.

Wouldn't be surprised if they just cancel the EV program and run the entire line with I6 AWD and RWD Chargers and Challengers. Or just offload 5000 EV Chargers to Dealers for the entirety of 2025, and call it a day.

Doesn’t sound like that’ll happen from what’s been reported here about the semi-solid state battery coming in 2026/27.

When the losses begin to stack up, you’ll see how quickly things will change. That’s a pet project that will melt under scrutiny.

Look at how much has changed just since the start of this year. And remember, Stellantis US operations lost $1.8 billion in the second half of calendar 2024.

How many additional billions can Stellantis afford to lose with US operations via these EV programs?

IDK - CEO is saying they need it to be compliant into the future.

It can be EV if it needs to be in the future, now isn't the time though. They need to be on their A game with the I6 release and market it so hard that people forget about the EV blunder.

there was absolutely no reason not to keep making the 2023 right thru now, and see how the EV version compares to the ICE version. The EV version should of been introduced at an entry level price to get some market share and get the ball rolling. The person that suggested and or approved making the Challenger into a fool king hatchback needs to be tarred and feathered. Maybe they can become the stylist for the toyota priius.
