The Scoop On Everything New For The 2020 Dodge Challenger
Dodge//SRT Focuses On Interior Improvements For New Model Year...

I've been complaining for at least three years that the Charger and Challenger need suede headliners and leather wrapped dashes to make them feel more luxurious. Now I guess it's time to pony up since those options are available on both cars.

Edit: And a color (Caramel) other than black or red on the Scat Pack?! Finally!

Would you like to take a guess at the string of curse words that came out my mouth the second I read the press release? Lol

My one main gripe with the Challenger/Charger is that elephant skin material on the dash and door panels that discolours if you look at it the wrong way. At least it’s soft touch material which puts them ahead of the competition, but I guess I’m doing a dash and door panel swap on my car, I want the carbon fibre bezels too.

Also becomes deformed in heat. The panels on the sides of the shifter on my car are both warped. As obsessive as I am with details like that... it's paid off now and I'm not spending more than necessary on this car, so I'll either replace them next summer right before I trade it in or just not worry about it.

I love the new flat-bottom steering wheel. I've hated that plastic at the bottom on the SRT/Hellcat steering wheels since day one. I've been hoping that one day, FCA would finally make a flat-bottom steering that was covered with leather all the way around. Hopingly it will fit a 2016+ YM; I'd like to have one in my SP.

It should easily.

I like the updates, however, it's been tougher and tougher to move Challengers the past year. The 2015 refresh and creation of the Hellcat created the momentum to carry the car 4 model years, and the Demon created buzz, however, I feel that has already fallen off.

We are still awaiting the first rebate on Challenger/Charger of any significant amount to make it a car we not only sell, but order. The V6 Challenger market is dominated by ex-rentals and hence destroyed their residual value. The 5.7L Hemi trims are too similar in price to the 6.4L Hemi trims that the R/T trim has become a no-order for most dealers. The removal of the "SRT" trim has created confusion for buyers, and the Hellcat continues to be out of most people's price range.

The other issue I am seeing is that the pre-owned market for 2015+ Challengers has grown to a point that few are wanting a new one, knowing that a low kilometre pre-owned can be had for $10s of thousands less. A pre-owned 6.4L+ sells quickly.

Recently I purchased this for our dealership

2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat with 25,000 kms. Despite being 5ish model years old, the car has held its value well with the lower kms. That being said, the widebody variants of Hellcats on the horizon don a $100,000+ MSRP which we all feel with fall firmly on its face the same way the Trackhawk has. The Trackhawk, FCA's first entry into $100,000+ MSRP since the Viper, has been a monumental failure in Canada. We currently have a 2018 Trackhawk, still brand new, with an MSRP over $125,000, that we cannot give away at $96,000 ($10,000+ loss to us). Canadians don't want to pay $100,000 for a domestic.

Anyway - back to my main point. It's time for a new Chally/Charger.

Yeah, these new interiors look great!

Amazing how a bit of stitching makes such a difference!

I'm very happy with my Cherokee (and it's stitched dash) but this brings the Charger/Challenger back up for me...although we still need a new Magnum

There are two very focused Challengers coming, no idea when, but I have been assured they are coming. I was assured that this version of the Challenger will be given a truly proper send off. They will at least be as focused toward their purpose as the Demon was toward its purpose.

I, personally, am very excited about them (those that know me, know why). Can’t say what they are, and I have no clue for date.

If the next generation is 2023, then we are talking 2021 or 2022 for the special send-off model, right?

Disclaimer: I haven’t heard anything in a dogs age, though. I know the vehicles are out there, but everyone I know is t saying anything.

My understanding is that these two will be the current generation. I heard that they were giving a proper going away present for this gen.

From what I have heard they are very fast, not the fastest of all “time”, but very very competitive.

Purely wishful thinking: I am personally hoping for a fully adjustable set up.

Maybe things look better in person but the pictures just look like all dark plastic. This Gen is ready for a send-off IMO. I heard that the next-gens were testing with law enforcement again recently.
