Sergio & John was Right: Nissan discontinue Altima and Versa

Nissan will drop the subcompact Versa after the 2025 model year, people familiar with the plans told Automotive News. According to AutoForecast Solutions, production is set to end in April 2025, with no next generation planned.

The midsize Altima will sunset following the 2026 model year after production was extended a year at Nissan's underutilized Canton, Miss., factory.

... and if only a certain proportion of a manufacturer's fleet mix is mandated to be ICE, high volume, low end products won't be those ICE powered vehicles. The Sentra remains (yuck), while the Maxima went away at the end of last year. The Kix is being updated into a larger, more serious crossover. The Leaf is also going away, but there is a rumored replacement on the drawing board.

Nissan isn't the only brand chopping away at their entry level products, everyone is doing this. No one should be surprised when the entry level Stellantis product will be a subscription for an EV, such as a Fiat Grande Panda or the next Jeep Renegade.
