Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced an important change regarding the Product Development department. In particular, the engineer Roberto Fedeli will be responsible for the Global Innovation sector, leaving the role of Chief Technical Officier (CTO) of Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

Fedeli was hired in 2016 by FCA after a brief experience in BMW where he had developed electrification technologies. The role of head of the development for future Alfa Romeo and Maserati models will now be covered by Joe Grace , former head of global architecture of FCA .

In turn, the latter role will be played by Tom Cowing who until now has been director of the Chassis Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics department at Chrysler.

Roberto Fedeli during his career also played an important role in Ferrari contributing to the creation of various cars of the Maranello brand: 456, 355, 550 Maranello, 360 Modena, California T, LaFerrari and 458 Speciale.

Welcome to the forum. Informative post, he has an impressive list of past experience under his belt, excited to see whats coming in the next few years.

Roberto Fedeli responsible for Global Innovation means all FCA brands.
And for him to move to Torino means according to rumors that Parker is going to be next CEO.

A car man for Global and a money man to run the show.
I am sure Fedeli knows who is going to be his boss and he is fine with that and accepts the new challenge.

Interesting detail an American Chrysler man in charge of the tech side of Alfa and Maserati.
Rumor is that Kuniskis asked for Joe Grace.
Nice one.

Harald Wester was and still is FCA CTO. So role for Fedeli is different. I heard that this is an all new department. CFR is under him. But maybe you have a better info.

BTW, there is no Parker in higher FCA ranks.

For the the interesting part. A lot of shuffle in FCA leading roles for engineering team. And most of guys are going to role in Europe. Joe Grace went to Alfa/Maserati R&D center. Stefan Ketter left role of COO for LATAM region but he still is a FCA CMO and he is back in Turin. Also leading powetrain guy in LATAM left his role and went back to Italy.

IMO, all of this is related to next 5 year plan. Maybe @redriderbob can say more on this.

Parker error.
Should of course be Richard Palmer, the money man.
