Ram Gives Us Our First Look & The Official Name For Its All-New BEV Pickup

Ram 1500 REV Will Arrive In Showrooms Next Year...

During the event, Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr., showed off the Ram 1500 Revolution Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) Concept to a few dozen press members in Chicago. But while it was the same conceptual vehicle we saw at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last month, Koval did drop some important new hints at the Ram 1500 BEV production vehicle due out in 2024.

Yawn,

Wheres the real news where they said Ram is offering the 392 in a street 1500.

And i must of missed the part where they talked about a Dakota sized truck.

Truck should of been called Revolt instead of Rev oh well what do i know.

this is tiresome.

Let explain this again in case you missed it. 14 State and 2 others are likely to Join the California regulation banning the sale of ICE vehicles by 2035, what is not being shared is 2028 taxes on ice vehicles so high that they are impractical to sales. Inside the 14 to 16 state is more than half the population At the same time they are cracking down on older vehicles on the road.

So, while you might not be interested in the vehicle, half the country will have NO CHOICE in new vehicles unless it is addressed legislatively. No way the company can abandon new vehicle sales to half the US population.

So if you live in a free state move along, if you live in one of those 16 states, one better start paying attention.

We should all be able to agree, the REV is a big deal for Ram. We mostly can agree that Ram seems to have done an outstanding job based on the concept of an engineering and styling achievement. I expect it to do well.
I will maintain my skepticism on electric vehicles and predict the current mandates and such will succumb to the forces of reality, market pressures and supply limitations for years and to the likelihood that future political leadership will take a different view of this delusional path to our future.
The Rev is a cautionary product but certainly not the mainstay of Ram for years and years and years. Still a big deal.

Anything that is forced on people will get pushed back, and since EV have not been allowed to win in the market place, people are going to be salty about it.

There is plenty to like and not like. Primary the false Ecology slant, Range, and ESG control it gives governments. None of this is on the Mother Mopar who simply is responding to the regulatory reality. So betching and complaining to Stalantis is not useful, complain to your State governments who are force feeding it.

looks to be a pretty cool truck, something is lost is that most of Ford Lightenings customer are new to Ford and New the Pickup Trucks, so it won't cannibalize 1500 sales, like a Dakota would.

Dakota has to be careful because it more than likely it will cannibalize some of the Jeep and 1500 Sales, it would be safer to come out with a Maverick competitor. Which would be easier to the STLA large platform

I don’t think they said they’ll put a 392 in 1500. It was more of people wish, me included, after they showed a couple of concepts.

The same goes for Dakota. They said they see a market but never committed.

They Hurricane Cat3 is a more potent powerplant.

I like it, looks better than the concept. I laugh at the EV fan folks acting like Cybertruck haven’t been delayed.

This looks really good. And if what they're suggesting in terms of specs is true it will be much better than the F150 Lightning.
IMO, they should consider offering a series hybrid powered by the EV engine, but with an ICE engine as a generator continuously working at its optimal rpm to charge a small battery feeding the EV engine.
This is a system similar to the Mazda MX-30 and the Nissan e-Power models. They are very efficient and drive like an EV, without having all the complexity of PHEVs.
That way more people would know what it is to drive an EV.
A RAM 1500 with a 2.0 Hurricane as a generator to a powerful EV engine would be very interesting.

Passenger screen coming to ram - excellent.

To me, its got what i'd think a new BOF durango front/chin would look like. I get a touch of wagoneer profile to the upper grill/front hood area as well. Makes sense if they are building these beside each other at warren or SHAP.

Well, I bit and threw my $100 into the pot to reserve a spot. Still lots of time between now and then though! Quickly approaching retirement so I figure one last big expense before that. Something that'll give me years of service. My 2013 Dart is growing a little old on me now.

IMO, they could make a new Durango based on this. I wish they would.
