May Be Delayed, But "It Will Be Brought To Market"...

Ram is preparing to re-enter the midsize truck segment with an innovative offering designed to honor the legacy of previous midsized pickups from Dodge (before Ram was branched off) while appealing to modern buyers. Although Stellantis initially planned to produce this new midsized pickup at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois in 2027, the project timeline has been delayed. The exact release date remains uncertain, but Ram CEO Chris Feuell assures enthusiasts that it will be worth the wait.

Why try? Didn't you hear the STLA large is a disaster and can't be fixed. There might be integration issues at start up, or mismatches during assembly.

Time to pack it up.

A new midsize truck is exactly what Ram needs. I owned 2 Dakota's in my life and both were very good trucks that could handle almost anything a larger truck could do unlike some other mid size trucks. I'm hoping that they do this right this time around as well.

It’s quite simple, Stellantis set the bar too high and over committed to electric vehicles. Now we have a log jam of much needed products and customers essentially rejecting all electrics and clearly demanding a gas powered vehicle option in every brand. Let’s hope the management team has gotten the message.
So here we have Ram Brazil making our domestic Ram executives look indecisive, but it’s part of the log jam problem. Looks like they are so far ahead of the Rampage with their Dakota replacement, a global mid-size pickup, that the kinks and bugs can be resolved quickly. That test bed task rests with the now delayed Charger Daytona. I really hope there are enough buyers out there to thwart the anticipated cool reception for the Daytona before the rescue crew arrives with the sedan and the Six Packs. That is obvious to everyone, but the Daytona needs to generate positive publicity and sales.
I truly hope Ram and Dodge can pull this off. They have made a mess of things for sure, but thank God for four doors, the Hurricane engines and the embarrassing situation our Brazilian cousins have put our guys in at this point helping move the agenda. Here’s hoping our Dakota puts things right. Could be a real winner.

I think people looking for an actual midsize truck might be a bit disappointed if they're thinking this truck will compete with say a Ranger or Tacoma. If it's based on the STLA Large frame, this truck is going to come in just shy of the overall size of a Honda Ridgeline, based on the size specs of the STLA Large. At an overall length of just over 201" it will be roughly 9" shorter than the ridgeline and barely 4" longer than a Santa Cruz, Ram Rampage or a Ford Maverick. Being that it is on the STLA Large platform, we may see Hurricane based variant but more than likely I would suspect any kind of performance would come from a variation of the 4Xe powertrain with the new 880RE in full hybrid spec. As it sits, the current 4Xe makes 370hp and 468lb-ft of torque or something in that ballpark. Even to tweak those numbers to 385hp and 480lb-ft of torque would easily outpower anything in it's class. The STLA LArge platform pickup would have a longer wheelbase than the maverick or a Rampage and at 80" wide, it has the capability of having a longer, wider bed, even if it's only a few inches. Now for me, at this point, I'd want a lowered, wide body R/T compact pickup truck with wide tires, Brembo brakes and the new rumored smaller displacement V8 in an R/T and a Rebel variant. But that's just me.
