The Jeep® brand stunned its enthusiasts base this morning, with a sneak peek at the upcoming all-electric Jeep Recon (EJ).

Meet The All-Electric 2024 Jeep® Recon Moab 4xe (EJ):

Unlike the Wrangler, the Jeep Recon is being designed from the ground up to be a 100% zero-emission off-roader. The Recon will be offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). Sorry internal combustion engine (ICE) fans.

Getting hummer and land rover vibes with this. Also interesting use of 4xe but not the PHEV 4xe that we've known so far. Why confuse everyone now with what 4xe aligns with? Apparently it will be anything "electrified" either full BEV or PHEV?
 
Offering another speculative “Mopar Willyism” but rumors abound that the next generation Cherokee will be based off the STLA large platform, breaking surface here on a Jeep initially with the Recon. Old Willy now predicts that this will be modified to underpin the next generation Cherokee two row and stretched to produce a three row Cherokee based Chrysler SUV, all built in the same facility.
The Cherokee and Chrysler will feature the straight six turbo, and ICE, hybrid and electric power applications. This Recon is too narrow a market player to not necessitate spin offs. These two proposed vehicles work perfectly on the obviously outstanding Recon. Make sense?

Agreed, I was kind of expecting something to show that the BEV vehicles are "better", but then again we have two completely different 2018 Jeep Compass models, so clarity isn't always a priority lol
 
I'll be optimistic and say its a hastily done concept that used a Wrangler as the basis, big time. The boxy off roader from EV day looked nothing like it
