Jeep® has officially pulled the plug on its long-anticipated Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The decision, revealed to dealers on September 19, marks another course correction as Stellantis continues to rethink the electrification roadmap set by former CEO Carlos Tavares.

This news comes after Stellantis confirmed the discontinuation of the fully electric Ram 1500 REV in favor of the range-extending Ram 1500 Ramcharger, which will now carry the REV name. While electrified vehicles aren’t disappearing completely—the Jeep Recon EV is still on track—the Gladiator 4xe will not be part of the lineup.

Will the Ramcharger, which is now called REV, ever see the light of day? I've been reading about it for years now. Are they really going to build and sell them?

Too close to the REV ..... Likely bit tired of the Samsung Divider issues. Love our 4Xe but not all the reprograms.

The Wrangler 4Xe has had some issues, and who wants a plug in annoying hybrid anyway, so this smart.

There are people who are anxiously waiting for the Ram REV and whatever the Wagoneer range extended EV will be called. Both drive versions of the Scout will be plugins, while the various Toyota PHEVs are sold out.

Perhaps the Jeep leadership decided to forgo offering the Wrangler's PHEV option on the Gladiator, because different suppliers are offering e-beam axles and generators for REEV drives. This hardware would work well together in a Gladiator REEV drive option.
