The Jeep® Avenger (JJ), Jeep’s first fully electric vehicle (EV) and a compact B-segment utility vehicle (UV) designed for the European market has quickly made a name for itself since its release in early 2023. With its distinct design and eco-friendly ambitions, the Avenger captured the attention of families and critics alike, winning several prestigious awards, including the 2023 European Car of the Year and Best Family SUV at the Women’s World Car of the Year Awards. Despite these achievements, the Avenger’s recent performance in Euro NCAP safety tests has raised concerns, with the UV receiving a disappointing three-star rating.

DongFeng missed the mark on safety... SO SURPRISING

When will the bad news end? Seems every day there is evidence of mismanagement, quality failures and denials and excuses from the corporate leadership. Most disturbing is the chilling accusations of greed and the practice of inflating product pricing to enhance salary and bonus income for upper executives. Sure it’s an ugly part of corporate culture and the rewards of success. But when evidence comes to the fore, like this, of cost cutting on safety for the sake of profit, it speaks to a lack of morality and ethics. I’m a Stellantis and Ferrari stockholder and will vote my shares accordingly. Until the investors who expect more from leadership hold them accountable, things may never change as Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler and Ram are sacrificed on the altar of avarice.
