Dang! It’s about time!
As the originator of the Dodge minivans I always thought Chrysler would keep this layout at the top of the heap. Stow ‘n Go? Genius. It solved a problem that tried to mess up my back and take a few fingers along the way. That made a nice leap in making the competition jump through hoops to keep up. I’ve had nearly every incarnation of Dodge minivans including the jobbie that had the slant 6 sitting next to you. Why so many? Because they worked... tirelessly and flawlessly for me anyhow. None were babied either. An example being going uphill on sandy two-tracks way up in the boonies. The only way to make it in a Caravan was backwards. Got the weight over the drive and made it which leads me back on topic. How nice to know awd is coming. Coming out of a couple Jeep GC’s I forgot how nice it is having all wheels driving. A simple wet rise coming out of a campground had me slipping, sliding and worrying (a bit) in my Pacifica. I hope it’s true about the awd Pacifica’s. What would be REALLY cool and something that might wean people away from the usual pickup’s and SUV’s is a real, off-road ready Pacifica, err, Jeepifica... Something with grippy (but quiet) tires, good ground clearance and stuff that makes it Jeep-like off-road but with the comfort, space, gas appetite and smooth ride of a Pacifica. Extra towing capacity would prolly further seal the deal.
Get the folks who made the Ram what it is onboard to figure out how to get this made and rule the roost by leaps and bounds for quite some time I bet.
