What you are not being told is this a very different Tonale then what was at capacity launch. It was supposed to be next level light with extensive metal replacement that exceeded the high level in the Stelvio. Along the way whether it was cost cutting or just commonality with the Hornet it became pretty porky.

After spending some time with the new Hornet at the unveiling, I think the Hornet is the better choice.

I am sure without the exotic parts originally intend to set the Tonale apart. One would be more exclusive nibble, and quick... the other mass market. What we got was nearly identical mass market vehicles.
