Reading between the lines for the most recent article on KM, it sounds like EV variants of upcoming and current Jeep Products (except Jeepster, the B segment Jeep made in Poland) will be exclusive to highest trim level; “Wagoneer”.

That is uh…amusing. Another cash grab by STLA. So they will have -

1) Jeepster (next year)
2) Grand Cherokee EV variant probably around 2026, when the MCA should drop
2) Wagoneer (STLA Frame) EV in 2024
3) 2025 Cherokee (KM) EV via Wagoneer trim
4) I don’t see Wrangler getting an EV variant until JM drops in 2026 or 2027. MCA should arrive next year, program isn’t scoped for an EV variant. We may get the Hurricane PHEV though.
5) Dodge Halo EV + PHEV Hurricane performance trims

Yawn. Sorry guys, I just can’t get excited about this. It’s just a blatant cash grab at this point.

If Mazda didn’t screw up their infotainment system so badly, I would switch.

Also, go to any grocery store in Metro Detroit and you shouldn’t have a hard time spotting a WL74 or WL75; you could fit your wallet into the some of the panel gaps. Especially B pillar alignment and tailgate. It’s crazy bad.

Lol @ Mazda. They'll be lucky to still be around in 5 years

Uh, they’re basically a sub brand of the world’s largest automaker.

Wagoneer as a trim name when it's used as a model too? Well …

No they aren't, they traded off a great trademark (skyactive) for peanuts. They dont even have an EV running, still messing around with that gas pig unreliable rotary engine

The last time the French had a say in Jeep the same thing happened. Back in 1984 Renault was running the show, so there was a full size Wagoneer, a new downsized Cherokee, and a small Wagoneer, a luxury model which was based on the new Cherokee.

The Mazda BEV is California only at this time. The chip shortage has slowed development progress down on a number of projects, including the long anticipated rotary engine range extended EV. This must frustrate the heck out of management because such a vehicle would be flying off the shelves right now.

Why are we discussing Mazda, when this Jeep is target is larger Land Rover BEV’s
Making it in Brampton make sense given the Canada/E.U. Trade deal.
