Fiat’s all-new Grande Panda just earned one of Europe’s biggest automotive honors: “Auto Europa 2026.” Presented by the Italian Union of Automotive Journalists (UIGA), this award has been recognizing standout vehicles for 40 years. For FIAT, this latest win signals something bigger than just a trophy—it shows that the brand’s newest generation of vehicles is hitting the mark with both the industry and everyday drivers.

I've watched the revues on the Grande Panda on various YouTube channels. If Fiat is going to continue on as a viable brand in North America, Stellantis needs to sell the Grande Panda here. I think our market is ready for a basic no frills vehicle. I like that the base model doesn't have a touchscreen, but instead uses a cradle for a smart phone or a tablet. Perhaps Fiat could find enough American parts suppliers to achieve the 65% domestic parts content to avoid a tariff hit if the car is built in Mexico. Sourcing the engine and transmission from the US would help towards the 65% goal and ensure the drive-train is up to our driving conditions. I suspect the Jeep Renegade replacement is in Limbo due to the tariff threat. The Renegade could share a lot with the Grande Panda and justify the cost of a new production line in Mexico or the US.
