The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) was shaken up last month when three-time NASCAR Cup champion, Tony Stewart announced he would be fielding two nitro entries (1 for Top Fuel, 1 for Funny Car) for the 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. Stewart also announced his Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) driver lineup which consists of his now wife and the NHRA 2018 Factory Stock Showdown Champion Leah Pruett and three-time NHRA Funny Car champion Matt Hagan.

Tony Stewart is a smart guy and ambitious too. What could be better than being “the guy” for Dodge? This is a brand totally committed to its racing program and the support for his operation would and could never be matched by anyone else. Being the Dodge guy would make him stand out among the other owners, not one of many, but the one. The opportunity to put Dodge on the playing field and in the winners circle as kind of a rebel operation, the under dog, is just so attractive and potentially profitable. Yes he is going to Dodge and he has the energy, name recognition and the opportunity to be the Dodge Guy or just another Ford guy among Ford guys. I know what I would do and Tony is way smarter than me. He is just so ripe for this gig it’s crazy smart. Good detective work guys.
