Chrysler’s Firepower GT Car Still Looks Good After 25 Years

Last week, while celebrating Chrysler’s 100th Anniversary at the beautiful Detroit Yacht Club (DYC) on Belle Isle, I got to see something truly special: the 2005 Chrysler Firepower Concept. It’s not every day you come face-to-face with this Viper-based HEMI® V8-powered beauty, and let me tell you—this car still looks like it came straight from the future.

The Firepower GT is a beautiful design and it is a shame it didn't go into production. Is the designer Brian Nielander still working with Chrysler?

Really really thought this Firepower was coming and I was planning on cashing in my savings to get one. Another dream crushed and another reason to ponder the tragedy of what has happened to Chrysler. It also should make Chrysler, what’s left, realize a halo model might be just what the brand needs. Firepower certainly sounds like a great name for it. Right now “Firesale” keeps popping up in my head these days. Not what I need.

This was Chryslers last hurray while Mercedes was filing for an exit with them.
They told me the budget was just not there when the break up was looming.

Suspiciously German Robber barons, produced this model with a different grill and hood.
