The Newest & Smallest Jeep Is Spotted With An ICE Engine...​

During the company’s Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan presentation, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares showed the public two teaser images of the first-ever 100% battery-electric (BEV) Jeep® vehicle. Internally called “Project 516” or (JJ) the newest and smallest Jeep is scheduled for launch early next year. Although it has been called “Junior”, our sources have indicated that the vehicle could feature the iconic “Jeepster” nameplate and it could make its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show from October 17th to 23rd in Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

As a global brand, this is an excellent product for Jeep. Expedited decision on platform and brand sharing all good decisions that needs to be done to hedge corporate bets on too much electrification that is rushed. As an American brand this is also an excellent decision because the market here might not embrace the Jeepster or its place of manufacture enough to assure a successful product that could tarnish the Jeep brand. Right now Jeep needs to concentrate on the next generation Cherokee and keep everything else in a very diverse portfolio fresh and in the forefront of technology. That Jeepster is damn cute though.
