Carscoops.com - Jeep pulls plug on PHEV Gladiator

The Gladiator is built in Toledo South. That line doesn’t have the capability to efficiently install the batteries and wiring harnesses for high voltage electronics. Jeep isn’t going to invest in the necessary tooling fix for just a few years at most, because I speculate the Ram BOF midsize will replace the Gladiator in Toledo South and the Gladiator will join the Wranglers in Toledo North, where the tooling is in place and operating.

The Jeep 4Xe plug-in hybrid setup is in desperate need of an update and the government incentive money has dried up. Let Jeep fix the plug-in hybrid setup first before dragging any more models into the debacle. In addition to that the marketing geniuses at Stellantis have totally baffled potential buyers of what a plugin hybrid is and what its advantages are. The marketing team has to get their act together and also take the blinders off.
