Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 38,164 vehicles because the steering column control module (SCCM) may not be welded properly. This can prevent the driver’s airbag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.” An airbag that does not deploy when intended may result in an increased risk of injury to the driver in certain crashes.
