Jeep® Recalls Its 2024 Grand Cherokee For Steering Knuckle Issue

Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 250 units of its 2024 Jeep® Grand Cherokee (WL) due to an improperly machined steering knuckle. A steering knuckle without finished machining can cause a ball joint not to be seated correctly and the ball joint nut to not be fully torqued, which can cause the ball joint to knuckle separation. A ball joint separating from the knuckle results in the wheel falling outboard, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. Why? If this was a sub-manufacture, did anyone check the parts first? If not, then remove this sub-manufacture.
