Same question I posed yesterday. Popular vehicle, established nameplate, no replacement in sight and no where to build it if one is in development. Now Jeep updates the current one. Really! If this were a TV show they would call it a comedy. Trouble is, no one is laughing, certainly not shareholders like me.
Jeep has good product, arguably the most valuable brand on the planet, yet they can’t figure it out. I know I’ll be drummed out of the conversation, but the rush and foolish over investment in electrification might just be the fly in the ointment.
I’ve been schooled on trade restrictions, and safety code shortcomings and Brazilian industry’s inability to support global export, but it seems people are now gravitating to the possibility that all these issues can be resolved. One can not ignore or deny the talent and capability shown by this Stellantis enterprise on many fronts. Well guess what ??? Maybe Brazil just might need more respect and inclusion since Stellantis needs them more than they don’t.
I’d view the Brazil wing of the company as a transitional player, but a first string player in product development, to begin to integrate intelligently, their formidable presence and capability in the Stellantis global operation. Stellantis NA ignored the Commander, ignored the Rampage and ignored the obvious, Brazil is now a player off the soccer field, it’s time has come. Biggest question, why not?
