One of the less glamorous results of the Fiat-Chrysler partnership was the Fiat derived Ram ProMaster van line. As a commercial van it has a highly useful and well planned layout and compelling features. Best of all, it has been developed and paid for by Fiat pre-partnership and almost cost free has given Ram a very competitive commercial product. The natural Eurothink design of the van can continue to evolve and as this new ProMaster demonstrates, it can constantly upgrade and modernize itself quickly and easily.
When the first Dodge van was launched, it was dramatic and a commercial and people mover game changer, but in essence, European vans evolved in one direction, Dodge by American standards, was less imaginative in my opinion. With one partnership, Ram was gifted with a whole new product line that redefined its van lineup in one day.
When you look at the ProMaster package you can not help but be impressed.
Say what you want, this was a “good deal” for Ram.
