The FIAT and FIAT Professional brands showed off their newest version of the Doblò and E-Doblò vans. Thanks to ingenious and innovative solutions that make driving in the city less stressful and much safer, the new Doblò is in fact the ideal partner for families in the passenger version and the suitable vehicle for all the demands of professional workers in the van version.

The new Doblò and E-Doblò vans also play an important role for the RAM Commercial brand, as the ProMaster City is based on the Doblò. The newest version hints at what is in store for the Ram Commercial brand and its North American offerings.

This is the compact professional/commercial van Ram needed to make major inroads in its segment. The previous Ram City was really dated but now it displays ingenious design, practical features, cutting edge power trains and more attractive styling. Urban contractors will be drawn in numbers to this much better package worthy now more than ever of the Ram brand. Good job!

I doubt this van will make it stateside, because it is not compliant to our safety and emissions laws. This van is not as robust as the current Ram PMC, which is restricted in sales by manufacturing capacity. The Ram PMC was a favorite for contractors. It has class leading performance and fuel economy, bettering the soon discontinued Chevy and Ford offerings. The PSA van doesn't offer cab-chassis, box, or Work-up versions. This new van is more the equivalent of the discontinued Ram C/V, which was simply a cargo van converted from a MPV.

The power trains offered are not leading edge. The PSA three cylinder is the gasoline fueled offering. The FCA three and four cylinders are newer much better designs. The battery electric version is contracted out and not installed on the line.

The Ram ProMaster Rapid is too small to be a player here north of the Rio Grande, but shows one way forward for a PMC replacement for North America. The rumored mid-size Ram for Latin America could readily duplicate the Ram 700 pickup/ ProMaster Rapid van platform mates in a larger size.
