The Chrysler brand unveiled a “Graphite” version of its all-electric Chrysler Airflow Concept at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). The Airflow Concept made its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this year, to much positive attention. This latest concept offers a reimagined look at a vehicle destined for production for the 2025 model year.

So it looks like the sheetmetal and lighting are set. Interior is maybe pretty close.

Chrysler is searching for a defining character. They had it with the 300, Pacifica SUV, Sebring drop top and my favorite the Crossfire about 12 or so years ago. You could tell three blocks away, that’s a Chrysler. The ill fated canceled 200, had a stylish front, a near miss rear end, but an uglier than dirt side profile that just lost the audience. Too small, too narrow, with a far too close relationship inside and dimensionally to the Dart for comfort. That was the fatal blow in my estimate. What a lost opportunity. Today Chrysler searches. The Airflow, a maybe. Sorry!
Will the Airflow revive the brand? Not without a next generation 300 sedan, or a stylish SUV or two, or a drop top halo model to stand out like the still strikingly beautiful Crossfire. Oh yea, and my beef big time, an all electric line up spells doom. Please get off that all electric train to nowhere. Call me “old school” but if I’m wrong, heck, take me to the woodshed. That too old school for you guys?

It’s a well (not impressive) designed « normal family » car yet, also in the interiors, but in 2025, it may be quite « old »… wait and see.

I think it looks clean but looks too much like it's a Chrysler impersonating a Tesla. The new Chrysler wing logo is too simple... I liked the current one. I wish they would bring out something like the 200C EV.

So It is hard for me to getting used to lack of a grill, it unneeded aero loss. As BEV go this is nice.

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING You wrote BILL! THIS IS WHAT I SENT TO RALPH GILLES. I know this comment to him does not carry any weight but I had to let him know WHAT I'M HEARING!!! everywhere!

Good Morning Ralph love most! but what I'm hearing is that the Airflow breaks no new ground styling wise! and does not separate itself from the BEV pack. It's not bold! and how come no Chrysler name on front or back? just a new wing? and it needs a few Knobs and buttons away from the center touch screen! I have big fingers! and so do others! Me? I'm Just a Chrysler diehard! but also I'm in a lot of Chrysler car and fan Clubs!! I have a dad that did 44 years at Chrysler I did 10 years. I own 2 300C cars a 2005 and 2018 I own 2 Dodge rams for my business, and have a 1995 Gen 1 viper, my son has a 200. What I'm hearing is 1-"well it's Ok looking, 2- looks just like a 2017 200 in front, 3- not Bold, 4- where's the Chrysler name? 5- looks like it got crunched in a vise too fat looking 6-why a laptop in the middle of dash like Telsa? why not mold it into the dash like the new Wagoneer's have inside. 7- stogy looking, Sorry Ralph that's what I'm hearing and it saddens me to agree. Chrysler needs a home run! this is a double at best! It just don't have the looks! and if Stellantis decides to kill the total neglected 300 in 2023, what then 2 minivans till 2025??? 2025 is way too late!!! to reboot with GM FORD and everybody beating You to the punch! already! their tech. is not waiting on you to catch up! nor will the marketplace! Stellantis needs to at least keep the 300 around with the Charger and give it a cheap cost face lift an a simple interior upgrade for 2 or the 3? of it's remaining years! and by God sake give it some adds! sales could go back to 50K as it bows out! while electric plans bring new vehicles! going down to 2 vans in 2023? and nothing new till 2025? stupid!

300 sells less than 2 per dealer before the pandemic. They are not going to spend a penny on it because they won't get it back. And that was when it was marketed. And even then, it was at margin far below the Charger. It has been half charity to even build them instead of building a Charger or Challenger. One cannot assume one's own personal preferences are a viable market trend... If one is a fan of Chrysler as a brand surviving, then One better jump on board with the new direction fast, because this is really its last chance.

The idea that they should make vehicles that lose money as a charity is ill informed at best. And to pretend the money was not spent Chrysler got 2 major vehicles when other brands world wide were starving. Both are places people insisted they must go, and one of those classes completely collapsed and the other in as steady decline. The vast history of the brand has been few models and low volume, brief blips related to killing of other brands like Eagle and Plymouth, but mostly at the expense of brand equity.

Chrysler as a brand had only one of 2 options Importer or BEV focus. They have chosen the more expensive and possibly more profitable. Frankly the brand doesn't deserve the another reboot, and there is risk in not doing with Dodge, but it doesnt quite fit the well cultivated image of Dodge. So they are doing the best the brand could hope.

It complete unproductive to come here and complain that it not what One wants, and what the company should do, or they will lose one- best believe that they aren't worried about you and the hubris to think they would is astounding because they are simply not enough of You to make the billions that are required to implement a new product viable. The T6 may be the last ICE engine until the infrastructure constraints reset the legislative requirements. So buckle up this is corner the brand is in. One has 2 options at this point Support it or move on. This is the reality.

I hope there is some variety in the trim levels and options. I would like seeing something lighter in both content and color. Ford offers some variety with the Mach-e menu.

I am sure there will be battery, motor, and trim levels. The interior seems a little still concepty but lets remember this is aimed at people who lived there lives on Smart phones, hard switches need not apply. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Airflow becomes a sub-brand allow STLA to distance itself from the retiree image of Chrysler. The company of sub-brands.

This is the perfect forum to express an opinion, offer suggestions and argue your point. Please note that the very pitch the introduction launch made harks back to Chrysler’s of old, they were ground breaking, outstanding, classic. The Airflow is a rubber stamp electric offering in a sea of electric offerings that in my opinion, are all doomed to rejection by the general public. Should Chrysler not have something electric? No way, but all electric, a fools mission. I firmly believe Chrysler needs many more offerings to survive, suspect the new head of the brand is too corporate, lacks passion and is not the person to lead this effort. The Airflow, as I said, is a maybe, cookie cutter and if more is not coming, then it is bad news. Why embrace something that lacks excitement and uniqueness, Chryslerness? Wished for more, got a yawn.

This is just sad. Absolutely no inspiration in style, design or execution.
It looks like it was designed by accountants.

Look at the class, it is attractive for the class. Think the black doesn't do it justice the white showed more detail. It tough to get over no grill. The Cadilac they do the digital grill maybe the best, The Mercedes is hideous, Audi just leaves the grill, VW is plain, Bolt vikes. Korean ... so so. The Tesla 3 looks like a Focus with vacuum form over it. The Y and X arent attractive. Polestar?? This isn't in the Tesla S catagory. I mostly think this room is not the best target.

Yes, know and target your audience otherwise you try to please too many and make non happy. The key is to turn enough volume to justify plant space and yield a profit. Secondary would be to build brand awareness, loyalty, and affinity that Kia did over the course of a decade or so.

Looks like it was designed by Tesla and Nissan. Absolutely nothing about it makes it get noticed. If this is what Stellantis if aiming Chrysler toward they might as well just kill it off now rather than making the end even more embarassing.

Let's face it... all BEVs will look similar due to everyone trying to pull the most aero to maximize range. This will continue until fast charging can be as quick as filling up your tank at the pump. Then automakers will ease up on their creativity once again and dare to push design boundaries.

So you don't like two of the Segment leaders, and it hasn't occurred to you that you might not be the target audience then? Dodge will get a fire breathing beast looking vehicle, RAM will get a 1500, Jeep will get Huge BEV SUV, and a rock crawling BEV. They all but announced it at Easter Safari. I just might be that they are aiming at the people buying a Tesla or Nissan? That may not be you.... but if your in the market for a BEV there will be other choices. They car sure as hell make a better car than Tesla, as cars go.

Moving on. Will cherish the memories. Chrysler is long since DOA. Too much time has passed since new product came along, and the last three swings were strikes, 300 not withstanding.
