Belvidere Continues Its Production Woes...​

Stellantis has confirmed that it will be idling production of its midsize Jeep® Cherokee (KL) beginning today, for one week at its Belvidere Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois. It marks a continuation of issues and concerns surrounding the company’s only underutilized assembly plant in the United States.

Stellantis’ Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois has been idled once again, due to the global semiconductor shortage. The 5 million-square-foot facility about 70 miles northwest of Chicago, has continued to be the hardest hit Stellantis plant in North America during the semiconductor crisis.

 
Ford is having to idle the Big Truck plant so that is way worse. Back at it this week.
