Jeep® Unveils Its New Three-Row Commander D-SUV For Brazil:

Will Slot Between Compass & Grand Cherokee...

This morning we talked about the critical success that the Jeep® brand is having in Brazil, the second best-selling market for the brand behind the United States. While a majority of the success is due to the Renegade and Compass models due to the fact they are manufactured there, Jeep has continued to look at expanding its lineup in that market with other models. Recently, we saw the all-new Grand Cherokee L on public roads within Brazil. But now, Jeep has launched another all-new model, something to fill in the gap from the Compass to the Grand Cherokee which will be manufactured within the country.

While I do really like it, the rear end keeps reminding me of a last-gen RAV-4.

I wouldn't say it's terrible. Just not my taste. I think the rear lights should have a gap from the glass as seen on the Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee which are executed better. The D-pillar is a little funky to me. It reminds me of a hearse. The extensions from the rear spoiler should be deleted. Maybe it should have been like the Compass where the D-pillar is body color and the chrome trim stays above the windows. Also like on the Wagoneer.

So much metal below the rear lights. And I don't like the odd chrome shape around headlights and grille.

Once again Jeep Brazil has demonstrated it has the talent to execute a great product for its market, impressive by any measure. The targeted global Jeep strategy makes sense and it bodes well for Jeep going forward. I must reiterate that this effort speaks to the ability of Stallentis to build multiple vehicles for multiple brand, for multiple markets off its planned platforms. I also will once again call for more insight on these plans for the Chrysler Group brands for those of us who need some sense of what is coming and the appropriate ability to critique these plans, no matter ones opinion or sophistication. Heck, why follow these threads if not to enjoy the banter? Jeep Brazil clearly has what it takes to be a meaningful player with global influence. This Commander is strong evidence for my position. Remember the old slogan, “Jeep Commander, take command!”

I think it looks good for what it is. I've never seen a 7-seat C-SUV that doesn't have something slightly off with its proportions.
This is one of the better efforts. Shame that FCA didn't consider releasing a Small Wide C-SUV in Europe. Now it will take years to see something from STLA to the FCA brands in this segment.

Its actually considered a D-SUV

Jeep Commander is bigger than I thought. Chinese Commander doesn't make much sense anymore.

In comparison to Compass front track is almost 4cm wider, rear is 6 cm wider.

I think that this car shares much more with Tonale and Hornet than anyone has thought.

Except the CUSW can be grown also and that plant is a CUSW plant or carrier. Its also a more premium platform from a dynamic position. I would guess that will comvert to the Medium or Large carriers in the future.

I think I'm warming up to the style of this one. The headlights/grille area are still a little off IMHO.
