I know you don't like the looks of the Pacifica, and the Carnival isn't that bad IMO, but they still can't figure out how to hide the sliding door track, but it does a good job of looking like a crossover

The Carnival is a smart move towards the trend of not owning a “minivan”. Seems to be taboo to people today. Anything that makes sense, it seems the population hate.
The sliding door track is a mind boggler for sure. Maybe people don’t mind it?

Maybe more people should be individuals and buy products based on their needs and what works best for their situation. There is nothing wrong with the styling of the Chrysler minivans. If someone wants to follow the herd and buy something which looks more like a crossover, that's their choice influenced by others. When I had a family I drove minivans when I could afford them, despite their Dullsville image. Today I live alone and don't have the family logistics to deal with. Vehicles such as the Dodge Challenger, two door Wrangler, and the DS Ram 1500 with a regular cab are all possibilities for me.

I wonder how many people will accept that huge 1 mpg less difference between the Kia Carnival and Jeep Grand Cherokee L. (The GCL being the gas hog.)

Well, what people like sells.
From the looks of all the SUV’s and trucks on the roads today, people are willing to take a hit on fuel economy.

I don't think the problem is totally just people don't like "proper station wagons" as much as station wagon design not adapting, until SUVs came along and stopped being just what were barely distinguishable from hearses. LX Magnum may not have been a massive seller, but it sold well enough, and the big Hemi Muscle Wagon has a bit of a following. I think it's more about positioning and cool factor.

That Magnum was an awesome “Station Wagon”. Had I been able to get a good deal on one, back when, I’d still have it now.
