It’s 2005 and the full-size Crew Cab pickup truck segment is growing at a rapid rate as more people are starting to use their pickup trucks as family vehicles. The Dodge Truck division (which is now known as the RAM) is ready to introduce its updated lineup of 2006 Dodge Ram pickups to the public. While other pickup brands have offered Crew Cab variants of their pickups, Dodge is to the game, only offering its smaller four-door Quad Cab configuration as an option.

These are hard to find (as are any gas powered megacabs from this time). The 4x4 was basically a 2500 with 1500 badges. Guy at work had a black 1500 megacab i tried to buy but he wasn't ready to sell. Unfortunately 3rd gens are so rusted out in my area they are tough to justify buying now, though if my 04 would have had an actual crew cab sized back seat I wouldnt have sold it.

I found a few online across the U.S. in good shape with low miles for sale.

I'd be shopping for one if I hadn't became addicted to ramboxes and heated/ventilated seats and heated steering wheel. It would be hard to go back after 4th gen Laramie ownership

I love my 06 1500 megacab 4x4. It’s a beast and great all around truck. There are a couple of megacab groups on fb that always has trucks for sale. I will never get rid of mine,I will rebuild the eng. and trans soon and hope to get another 260k miles out of them with lil to no problems
