Jeep® is gearing up for the launch of its first all-electric offering in the North American market, with the 2024 Jeep® Wagoneer S. Set to arrive in dealer showrooms this summer, this ultra-premium crossover isn’t just about a statement of innovation and sustainability, but also allows the Jeep brand to sell a Wagoneer nameplate vehicle globally. Power and Performance – Under the hood, or rather, powering the Wagoneer S is a dual e-motor setup delivering a staggering 600 horsepower. All the thinking on the Wagoneer S has sound standing, except one...all electric.
Jeep has the platform already near launch to easily and effectively solve the one illogical and limiting issue, the spinoff Cherokee platform and its plan to offer a hybrid option. Give the Wagoneer S and the Recon a hybrid option, keep the electric version to save face and make both a sales success. Failure to read the market will result in an embarrassing failure for Jeep and humiliation for the executives who decided on the restrictive and short sighted plan for the Wrangler S and the Recon. Get smart Jeep, go hybrid with the Wagoneer S and the Recon or get pummeled in the marketplace with a potentiall great luxury mid size Wagoneer offering and an off road Wrangler alternative. Think this out and fast. Even just announcing plans to offer a hybrid option at launch would do it...so do it.

Agreed. Give it a 2.0-liter PHEV powertrain and it would be a hit.

I still don’t get the idea of having a Wagoner S that is a BEV and also have a BEV Cherokee, when they are virtually identical.

The BEV Cherokee can be driven through a car wash. I know nothing about the ICE option in the Cherokee, if it will be a rear drive or front drive based setup.

Are we sure about that? You think the Speedback make the KM? I think not? But IDK.

If it is on a shrunk STLA large it should have the engine running the proper way. Unless they do a REV setup.
