2020 Jeep® Commander PHEV Now Available In China:
This Urban SUV Would Be Perfect For The North American Market...

This seems like such a well thought and planned SUV. It's a shame that it is restricted solely to China.
I believe it would be a huge success in North America (as a Chrysler) and in Europe.

Very hardly in Europe. Just look at Pug 5008 and VW Tiguan Allspace.

In US? It could be. Who knows.

In Europe the sales would be niche, but a 7-seat Jeep PHEV would still sell at a premium. Just look at the new BMW X5 PHEV as an example (well, not sure if it's also available as a 7 seater).

It would be a better fit in Europe than the Grand Cherokee.

How different is the transmission in the Commander PHEV than that of the Pacifica PHEV?

For me personally, the Jeep Cherokee is a much better fit than a Commander. I am hoping that some of the engineering work which went into the Commander will show up stateside. Not just for the drivetrain, what I mean is that future FCA products will have space designed into them for batteries and electric motors. The hybrid Pacifica seems to be well integrated, but some of the competition out there have offerings which aren't packaged near as well.
