2019 Dodge Challenger SXT AWD. (Dodge).

For the past two model years, Dodge has brought the public the all-wheel drive Challenger GT. An all-wheel drive muscle car for those who live in the snow belt and want the comfort of having an all-wheel drive sport coupe. While the GT AWD has been a success for the Challenger nameplate, the introduction of Challenger GT RWD for 2019 was a shock to some people.

For 2019, Dodge has made the GT trim level more of their performance trim. Think of it as more of a V6 version of the R/T’s HEMI performance trim characteristics. Well the Challenger lineup continues to expand for 2019. Yes, we have heard about the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320, the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody and Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye. But now Dodge has something more for the those who want an affordable, no non-sense sport coupe for those who live in those snowy or wet areas with the all-new 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT AWD.

The Challenger SXT AWD is powered by the award-winning 305-horsepower Pentastar V6 paired with the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.

With a base MSRP of $30,295 and that does not include the $1,395 destination charge ($1,445 for Hawaii), the Challenger SXT AWD is the cheapest way yet to get into an all-wheel drive Challenger.

Powertrain:
  • 3.6L V6 24V VVT ENGINE (ERB) w/ 8-SPD AUTO 850RE TRANSMISSION (MAKE) (DFT) – Standard

Just wonder why they are keeping the Challenger GT AWD and why not Charger GT AWD. It was a very popular package here in Michigan.

Yes, that seems very confusing to me too. There are plenty of performance and appearance upgrades that could have differentiated the SXT AWD and GT AWD.
