My buddy Joe bought one of the first 1966 Chargers made and for me, it was love at first sight. I took every opportunity to ride in it and particularly loved the glowing dash gages and luxurious door panels. Our group called his yellow Charger “banana”. He had it stolen, stripped and dumped into Little Neck Bay in Queens. Sad sight half submerged ten feet out in the bay. Gone forever.
It sure was an attention getter way back then.
