The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) makes its U.S. stop this weekend as the Lone Star State hosts Round 6 at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). The 6-hour endurance race, known as the Lone Star Le Mans, will put drivers and machines to the test on Austin’s technical 3.426-mile (5.513-kilometer) counter-clockwise circuit. With soaring temperatures, heavy bumps, and fast transitions, the track has a reputation for punishing both cars and drivers.

Rooting for Team Peugeot in America, but I’m rooting even harder for Team Ram and Team Dodge and Team Mopar. Lots of money being spent on Peugeot but for most Americans, not a big draw. Hopefully much more than currently spent on our other domestic auto sports will be directed to factory teams in NHRA, NASCAR and SRT brand initiatives. If racing and performance is important for basically Europe operations, than likewise for our mainstream racing operations in America, which obviously has a bigger market to subsidize and market and drive sales.
Room for everyone.
