The next evolution of the Jeep® Wagoneer (WS) is underway, and it’s going electric — with a twist. Recently, our spy photographer’s lenses caught a camouflaged 2027 Wagoneer 4xe engineering mule out and about near the Chelsea Proving Grounds in Michigan, giving us our first real-world look at Jeep’s upcoming Range-Extending Electric Vehicle (REEV).

I wonder why they decided to use the V6 as a generator. Wouldn't a smaller engine be lighter and more efficient?

Still love the Wagoneer as some form of luxury Jeep sub brand. Keep supporting the Wagoneer Jeepsters, it has so much going for it. Here on Jeep loving Long Island they are doing well. It does have a following. Marketing needs more exposure. I’m a fan of this idea, still.

Pentastar can easily fit in the engine compartment (in the Ram 1500 / Wagoneer) and is battle tested. Too much stress, long term, for a four cylinder.
